NOVEMBER 2020-

We had so much fun visiting Tuckasegee & Barnardsville, North Carolina in November. Barnardsville is only a 25-minute drive from downtown Asheville, and Tuckasegee is an hour Northeast from Asheville. So, if you are planning to take a trip to Asheville, I recommend doing some slight detouring to experience these two amazing hikes.

Craggy Gardens Trail

Located off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Barnardville is a 1.9 moderately trafficked trail called Craggy Gardens. This is the perfect hike to do if you don’t have a lot of time but want to get some hiking in.

PICTURE PERFECT

Mom and I stopped mid-hike for a quick photo opportunity. How can you not want to take a photo with this background?!

MOUNTAINS VIEWS

The views were so gorgeous it was hard to leave.

TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN

Family photo at the top of the mountain! Once we made it to the top, we were able to sit and take in the gorgeous views.

Hatcher Falls Trails

If you’re looking for a quiet hike with little traffic, and you have an entire morning, I recommend going on this 5-mile hike. For the most part, I would rank this hike as easy as far as the difficulty level goes. However, getting started, you will find that you are hiking up an incline for about the first 20 minutes. Check out all the fun we had below. There were definitely a few gems along the way.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

We chose the most perfect day to go for a hike. This hike ended up being 5 miles so if you have a few hours, I highly recommend visiting this trail.

WATERFALL BACKDROP

A river and a waterfall backdrop? Talk about getting to see some special sights along the way.

A DIP IN THE WATER

After a 2.5 mile hike, it feels good to take a quick dip before heading back to the car. This was definitely my favorite part of the hike.
