Believe it or not, Northeast Ohio has a lot of beautiful hiking spots. My pawrents and I are always looking for the next best hiking trail we can explore together and below, I have put together a list of our favorite ones.

Pictured to the right: Silvercreek Metro Park in Wadsworth.

  • SILVERCREEK METRO PARK

Located in Wadsworth, is the cutest metro park called Silvercreek. What sets this park aside from other metro parks is the variety Not only are there two great hiking trails- (one 1.3 miles -Pheasant Run Trail the other 2.2- Chippewa Trail), you can rent a paddleboat, go fishing, or walk on the pavement instead of the two trails.

  • CUYAHOGA RIVER GORGE TRAIL

Located near Cuaygoa Falls, is the Cuyahoga River Gorge Trail. Ranked as moderate, this 1.9 mile trail has a ton of awesome views. As you can see, there is a reason this trail is ranked as moderate. There are some difficult climbing areas where hiking with little legs is a bit difficult. But it definitely made for a fun adventure!

  • CHUCKERY TRAIL LOOP

The Chuckery Trail Loop is located near Akron and is a 2.4 mile moderately ranked trail. This is the perfect trail to do in the summertime because of the large stream you can take a dip or go swimming in. If it were up to me, I would have relaxed by the water all day. You definitely need to check this trail out!

Some of My Other Favorite Trails:

  • Dogwood Trail- 1.9 miles- Ranked Moderate- What I loaf about it: Scenery

  • Ledges Trail- 2.3 Miles- Ranked Moderate. What I loaf about it: Scenery

  • Salt Run Trail- 3.8 Miles- Ranked Moderate. What I loaf about it: Challenging but rewarding when finished.

  • Austin Badger Park-3.2 Miles Ranked- Moderate. What I loaf about it: There is a coffee shop at the beginning of the trail which is a lovely reward when finished. Also, along the trail is a brewery if you need a break from your walk. I even received some bacon from one of the nice employees when I visited!

PICTURED LEFT: Austin Badger Trail- If you looked closely, you can see we are approaching the brewery.
